Devotional: Hiding God's Word in Your Heart

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)

Memorizing Scripture is not just for children in Sunday School. When God's Word is stored in our hearts, it is there to guide us, comfort us, and help us resist temptation, even when a Bible is not close by.

Here are three simple ways to get started:

1. Choose one short verse and write it on a card you will see every day.
2. Read it aloud each morning and evening for a week.
3. Share it with someone else. Teaching a verse is one of the best ways to remember it.

Start with Psalm 119:11 itself. By next Sunday, you may be surprised how naturally it comes to mind.
