Devotional: New Every Morning
August 3, 2026 · Church Office
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Jeremiah wrote these words while surrounded by sorrow. Jerusalem had fallen and everything familiar was gone. Yet in the middle of his grief he remembered something that had not changed: the faithfulness of God.
Whatever yesterday held, this morning brings a fresh supply of God's mercy. We do not have to carry yesterday's failures into today. Bring them to Him, receive His forgiveness, and walk forward in His strength.
This week, try starting each morning by reading these two verses aloud and thanking God for one way He has been faithful to you.
